They haven't been announced yet. I'm thinking of writing to Tezuka Productions and asking about the DVD/bluray release.[/QUOTE]

They oughta. Wouldn't exactly be expensive would it? Already dubbed, only eight episodes, they don't need to do anything fancy. Just through it on a single disc and send it out.

Well, folks, I'm glad to announce that we haven't seen the last of Little Astro Boy.

On November 3, 2015, Little Astro Boy gets it's first home release in Japan via Happinet. Although the DVD is Region 2 and only has Japanese subtitles, it will be bilingual, featuring a Japanese and English audio track. It will also be presented in 16:9 (widescreen). It is available for pre-order on CDJapan; you can get international shipping. The price is 3500 yen, or US$ 28.95:

YES!
I can play Region 2 DVD's on my Oppo DVD player (as soon as I get it back from the factory, it needed service), or on my PC. I guess that will be a birthday present for myself, (that's 3 days before my birthday).

Hey this will be a first, an Astro video DUBBED in JAPANESE!

While I can't read the Japanese, I see that the title ends in "Atomu" and doesn't have the "Tetsuwan" in front, so I'm guessing it's literally "Robot Atomu", I think the title is written without ANY Kanji.

Come to think of it, I'm actually surprised that it's being released on a DVD, I thought that most new video releases these days were going BD.
