Favorite version of Astro Boy (discussion)

I do believe that the Dubbed version of the 2003 Astro Boy was cheesy but it is still fun to watch as well. But I think the Subbed version is much better because it has scenes that where cut out in the dub

Just wanted to say that. Seriously for me, since I saw the original back in the sixties when they first aired here in my native New York City, it is still my favorite.

I do like the 1980s reboot. Especially the nine part, "Astroboy vs. Atlas" story line, along with these episodes which also belong with the story line: "Robot Circus"; "Save the Classmate" and "Uran, the Tomboy"!

Of the 2003 I have individual favorites such as: the episodes featuring Wally Kisagari and the Repo Girls!

And of course the original manga.

I love everything "Astro Boy"!

BTW among my favorite episodes are "The Wacky Machine" from the 1963 series, "Lost in the outland" from the 2003 series, and "Save the classmates" from the 1980 series.

I just turned 59 last June.

One of my favorites that I actually remember the plot of from childhood is "Strange Voyage"! That last scene is very haunting.

Another one I remember, but mostly because of the name of one of the characters is the one with "Princess Papaya Petal"; "Sea Serpent Isle"!

I really love the 2003 series (my biggest inspiration in middle school with the best Tenma) and Little Astro Boy (I met so many good friends while staying up for the episodes), but my absolute favourite is the 1980 series. It was the series I grew up with, first in its Canadian dub version when I was a very young child, and then once again when I was 13 and picked up the DVD set by chance. It's imprinted on me so much that to this day, I still read dialogue of the characters in their 1980s dub voices.
