I was watching the Episode that introduced Reno. The Japanese version uses the 'boy's heart' melody at various places in the story. I also noticed something that I missed before, the ringmaster looks an awful lot like Grocho Marx!

Groucho had a large "painted on" Mustache that sometimes extended downwards, it depended on how careful he was with the makeup. He also had painted on eyebrows that look like the ringmaster.



Later on in life he had a real mustache.

Did Tezuka ever grow a mustache or smoke a cigar? Well Grocho did wear a Beret.

Cigarettes for sure, he was chain smoking them in the video that came with the McCarthy book I have. Probably what led to his stomach cancer.
