Remember my story "The Gift"? The idea behind it isn't fiction.

The plans for that robot are open source, and most of the parts are 3D printed. It would take me a LONG time to print all of those parts, and the cost of the electronics might be a shock (must be many dozen servos in there!). And of course I'd want to do a little redesign on the head, to make it look a bit like (hair spikes).

Interesting idea. Wonder if anyone is throwing out a segway in need of repair?

With the segway part rather than legs, this makes me think of Elmer Fudd's Automatic Salesman Ejector, featured in Design for Leaving.
