I saw Memento, under really weird conditions. As the film was rather weird, when the guys loaded the next reel upside down, it took a while for anyone to notice, 
Despite the visible audio track. I was sitting there, wondering why everybody was leaving the theater. By the time I was on my feet, I was hard pressed to figure out to which of the other theaters they all went.
Anyway, with regards to Atom, the 1960s series had at least two episodes in which he lost his memory.

96 General Astro (VHS 30th ann #5)
45 Cleopatra's Necklace
45 Return of Cleopatra (VHS #9)
As I recall, this last one had the local guy repair Atom as best he could, but O was needed to properly reair him.
