Jeffbert and crazyd200...thanks so much...I'm a little nervous being here as Astroboy is not my Tezuka stronghold by far, but I hope to make it as such over time...

That's comforting.

You can probably tell from my avatar and signature that my mind is somewhere else...I'm gonna have to take a crash course in Atom. :d oh:

I've read the first three Americanized books and some killer fanfiction. I have a long way to go...

But this is hardly the thread to discuss this. Maybe I'll go set up something of an introduction...

Thanks Lyn Lyn. She's absolutely right. I'd much rather discuss what people thought of the music. If you're not downloading it, I'd greatly urge you to try. I really believe if you give it a chance, you'd like it. I'm sad that the music is being ignored.... (to a degree)...

And Dr Frag (if it was you who asked this...) the only other character in the clouds was bleeding gums murphy. :)

Also, just a reminder, I'm posting a new song EVERY DAY. So in case you decide not to stop by because there was an update yesturday, a new song will be posted within the hour. I never forget an update. ;)

Title: "Jump Up Behind Me"
Artist: James Taylor
Album: Hourglass

James Taylor has one of the most renowned voices in all the world. His voice is amazing. It's like someone signing you a lullaby. He doesn't dress it up or anything. It's just crisp and pure.

This song is from his album "Hourglass", which he released in the early 90s. He first hit the stage in the late 60s, so basically the only way I know of him is through my mom and dad... His music used to be the only stuff we'd play in the car on the long drives up to Vermont. To me, James Taylor is part of my childhood. He's been my favorite ever since I was 4 years old.

As for the song: Obviously it's no "Carolina in my Mind", but it's still a classic. The album itself was very experimental, and you can clearly hear that in the song. He uses a lot of natural sound, such as bongo drums, chorus, and whistling..... nope, it's not a flute. Lol. I've always loved this song, and will continue to love it. It's cute, with lovely lyrics that speak of love and nature. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Though James Taylor is no spring chicken, I urge you not to let that factor stop you from listening. His mix of pop influence and traditional folk music make him the greatest singer/songwriter I've ever come across. His music creates a sense of nostalgia in me. I'm not sure if it will have the same affect on you, but I hope it's just as good.

I loved the songs! Especially Jazz Man. I'll listen to the new one later.

Ahh, James Taylor. Another great thing you turned me onto, Mr Skunk.

You're right when you say his singing is just like a lullaby. There's no additives in his songs; they just say what they need to, then fade away. He doesn't even go so far as to use fancy wording or complicated lyrics. Most of his music just says the bare minimum, but it works wonderfully because you get shots of raw emotion in a simple, easy-to-digest form.

I like this one like the others you've sent me. It has kind of a savanah-desert, African badland kinda beat...although the song itself is very warm and nostalgic.

Thumbs up once again. Another great one.
