I was wondering about a few things relating to Cobalt, Astros brother.
I picked up volume 16 of the dark horse manga the other day and he appears in two of the stories, "The Midoro Swamp" and "The Devils Balloons".
Does Cobalt have comparable power to Astro or does he have less like Uran? I also got the impression he wasnt as smart somehow, whould I be correct in assuming this?
Plus in the intro to Midoro Swamp, Tezuka mentions another ending where Cobalt dies o_O does anyone have that version?

Cobalt has a horsepower of 100.000, same as Astro until Tenma gave him his million horsepower during the fights with Pluto. Now he has the same power as Uran.
Cobalt originally died on "The Midoro Swamp" in a desperate attempt to save the world, but Tezuka felt bad for his carachter and when the story was published on book, he changed the ending. Presumabily, the original ending is impossible to find due to the poor paper quality of japanese manga magazines, which impossibilites its conservation.

It would be strange that one of the characters who never fights would be one of the strongest robots in the world.

So, I don't think so, or else Pluto would've gone after her as well.

Punch-Out: Astro Style!
Starring: Astro as Little Mac, Dr. Elefun as the Referee, and Daddy Walrus as the Fat guy Who Makes You Wear a Pink Jogging Suit!

I thought she had 50,000 in all incarnations.
Anyway, about Cobalt, his origin differs in the 60s and the manga. the manga has Ochanomizu hastily create him to retrieve a bomb from the bottom of the sea, when it seems that Atom has run away. Thus Cobalt is Atom's younger brother. Thus, although Cobalt lacked the refinement & intelligence Atom had, he might have had the 100,000 Hp.
In the 60s anime, Cobalt was a prototype of Atom, & likely just as strong, or nearly so. However, now he is Atom's elder brother.

Definately 100,000 in the comics, I just read her origin tale the other day (which is basically "Uran's Twin" with her being created in the beginning - issue 14 BTW) and during the Robotting matches she's touted as a 100,000 HP robot.
