Was Skunk in the 1963 version?

Postby mr skunk » 19 years ago

K, this is what irks me....

I was given info. that episode 7, "Zero, the Invisible Robot", was based off the manga story by the name of "Lightning Man." However, I downloaded this episode off of Fafner's server, and couldn't find Skunk in it at all. Is he in the 1963 series? If so, could someone name a few episodes for me? And also, did Skunk appear in vol. 15 in the story "Lightning Man" as well?

I'm sure you all are sick of me talking about Skunk so much. After today, I'll cut back. I swear it! :p

I'd help, but I've only seen the first episode of the original series and have never read the manga. :d oh:

:o hmy:

Really? How come I never saw him? Am I thinking of the right episode? I have an episode entitled "Zero, The Invisible Robot," but I didn't see Skunk anywhere in it...

I own the 1960's series DVD collection and I think that perhaps you may not recognize Skunk because of the black and white for one thing. And for another the dub doesn't even call him Skunk at all. But he is the villain in that "Zero Invisible Robot" episode.
I haven't seen it for awhile but they refer to Skunk as something like "Fearless Freddy the Fink". And he did appear in other episodes, but this was the only one ever dubbed into English.

Incidentally the 60's series is a beautiful vintage treasure for Tezuka fans. :D

 I thought I had created a thread to discuss my Skunk page, but I find it not. Here is the link, you will find images from Skunk's 1960s appearances:
