My Own Astroboy 80's video-game on pc
I just had a look on the DVD of the PS2 game on Astro. I am 100% sure that all data are in a single file called "img6g.cvm" which is more than 2 Gb. Although I can read clear text in it among the binary data, I don't know the exact format it uses, and therefore I can't extract anything from it. Not without extensive (and time-consuming) searches

The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

I doubt it will work, maybe you can see if someone has already gotten some of the images before attempting to your self?

How are you going to extract files from the CVM? As I understand you would need the Sony Devkit, which costs something like US$20,000 for a licence.
The CVM contains MD2 model files, as you've probably already discovered. Same as Quake 2 models.
Edit: Maybe not. The CVM doesn't seem to contain MD2 ID markers.

First, this is Windows software, I will have to lay my hands on a Windows machine somewhere, if I dare touching such a thing

Second, it will be of no use anyway since it allows to read the DVD, which I can already do. I just have this 2Gb file "img6g.cvm" which is not encrypted since I can read clear text here and there. I just don't know its format and therefore I can't extract a binary file from it.
However, since you have a devkit, you may be able to do something with that file. The only problem would be the size of the file: 2Gb

I had a look at the file and managed to extract the cutscenes from it, but it's an odd format. There are 32bit values stored as both big endian AND little endian, which appears totally redundant unless it's going to be used on multiple platforms. Also, the video format for the cutscenes is a Dreamcast format, and I converted them to MPG with an XBox tool!

I will need help with the intro video and the credits video, i have decided the music for it, for the intro it will play a longer version of the techno remix, and before the intro it will display Kool creations and tezuka logos. the credits will play "Mariah Carey - Hero" and maybe another song depending on how long the credits are.
Let me know if you want to help.
