I have noted his presence in other episodes, or I might be thinking of the same one that you mentioned. I have taken notes on them, but need to review the notes. His name appears nine times in "Astro Boy" manga, according to his Performance list, found on his characters world page

Hehe ... yeah, she evolved probably more than any other Tezuka character.

I would not know these were the same 'actress', if I did not see it on the website. There just is not much of a resemblence between the faces.

[b]I should have stated earlier, that by today's standards, Lang's Metropolis starts out a bit slow. It is a great film, though.

One of my favorite movies ever. I love early cinema. Metropolis is a brilliant movie for its time and I believe is still mighty brilliant today despite its age.

I also love all the original Universal Monster Movies.

They re-released Lang's Metropolis a while ago with modenr (for the release) music replacing the original and they tinted and cleaned a lof of the film. It was a VERY interesting enhancement and I really liked how some of the music was matched into the imagery on screen, but I must admit I still prefer to original release version.

But like the SE of Star Wars in that respect I guess :P

Just saw the anime adaptation of Tezuka's Metropolis and walked away with mixed feelings. It is certainly a good anime, maybe even a great anime. I've never read Tezuka's Metropolis, but my problems with the film was a general feeling that what we were watching didn't exactly match up with the anime that Tezuka would have made (although he is often pretty dark, he balances everything with humor and a certain light-heartedness). This metropolis is downright dreary with not a speck of humor, and that felt like a let-down to me. It seemed as though the director wanted to make a very different kind of movie, or at least was split in which direction to go, so that the movie often feels as though it is struggling with itself as to just which direction it wants to go.

Ultimately, I was surprised how much I enjoyed the film at the end; I am just dissapointed that it didn't feel much like something Tezuka would have done.

Quite right. The manga has quite a bit of humor in it, Michi itself had the ability to become lighter than air, & thus float, & the ability to switch from male to female & back again. Mustachio goes around disguised as a gaint rat that resembles Micky Mouse, & most characters have humorous appearances.
