I posted a similar thing in another thread, wherein I noted that in the manga, Atom's food is nicely wrapped in plastic, and so he gives it to a beggar. Search for 'doughnut', and scroll through the pages, and you will find it.

Sorry to double post, but I forgot. I not only bought the first Astro Boy book, but I was also able to get to a scanner so I made a whole bunch of pictures.

Just as the manga says, they just sort of sparkle.

Perhaps the excerpt of the pic is a little small but Astro appears to sit on the plant itself :huh: .
