And no... Dharma is not a religous term

Since you are so handy with a dictionary, perhaps you would care to define it for us. Defining one's terms is the first part to engaging in any meaniful debate. B)

Why not simply define it as you use it. That way you can skip the dictionary.

I have a take-home midterm to complete, so I will be quite busy between now and Sunday. But this is it, mine friends, my final semester. I will soon earn my BA in Humanities. I am thinking about an MA in either Liberal Arts or Philosophy, but thinking is still the key word. :) I use this plain smiley because he is so lonely. People prefer the  , :D , :P , or :wahah: .

Study this for awile.... Breath..... Balance your Kaa and Chi....
:o :o
It is written of Abrahm Brahma....
"....And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness (ie.Dharma)....."Genesis 15:6
and that his attainment of Dharma became such that...

"....And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
[2] And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
[3] And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:
[4] Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:
[5] And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.
[6] And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth.
[7] And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it.
[8] And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat....." Genesis 18
He could see "The Lord" and "The Lord" ate food before him.
Yet when Arjun looked upon "The Lord" he saw...
"...Arjuna saw in that universal form unlimited mouths, unlimited eyes, unlimited wonderful visions. The form was decorated with many celestial ornaments and bore many divine upraised weapons. He wore celestial garlands and garments, and many divine scents were smeared over His body. All was wondrous, brilliant, unlimited, all-expanding.
If hundreds of thousands of suns were to rise at once into the sky, their radiance might resemble the effulgence of the Supreme Person in that universal form...." Vishvaroop Darshan Yog:chapter 11
The Gita
Both were looking at a man born of a woman.... This is the definition of Dharma. The incarnation of righteousness and attainment of the cosmic duty. As far as I will tell by the authority of the Ma'Jinn that is I myself incarnate.

Well said Loüßëãr! :D

Thankyou, Doc. I just thought that this was an Astroboy forum, not phylosiphy.....I believe everyone should voice their opinion....but i find this forum more a mellow place and to share our love of this charecter and all of Tezuka's creations, respect what he was aspiring to and simply enjoy each others comments & shared admiration....Oh well.
I don't know whether to speak up or just stay out of this...

Jump on in Dr.Frag....join me in the hot water ;) :P :P :wahah: :wahah:

Ok... I was not going to say anything else, but it's starting to get too quiet in here. Let's stir things up.
First the missing train episode.
"...In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his TRAIN filled the temple...."Isaiah 6:1
Thus the train battle we find ourselves in. But this kind of metaphor should not suprise us too much.
Did you notice the Koranic aspects of Astro? The main power is channeled through a spider...
"...The parable of those who take guardians besides God is as the parable of the spider that makes for itself a house; and most surely the frailest of the houses is the spider's house did they but know...."The Spider" surah 29:41
Dr. Oshay shows Astro Metro City for the first time and tell's him the city is built by Robots. Astro see's the Robots building the city are in the form of Bee's.
This also is a book of the Koran.
"...And your Lord revealed to the bee saying: Make hives in the mountains and in the trees and in what they build:...."The Bee" surah 16:68
But The Episode"The Venus Robot" is pure Lovecraft. "R'Lyeh Fatagin" Astro discovers R'Lyeh at the bottom of the sea. Tenma then commands "The Deep Ones" in the form of the Robots, to attack and destroy the world with their "ICE beams"....
"....And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them:..."Amos" 9:3
In the end, The Robots at the bottom of the sea erect an image of Astro and worship it as God.....
Thus "The Isanami Cyber Ninja" Masters of all "Intelligence. Counterintelligence. Espionage.... (I.C.E.) have received their marching orders and operational directives for the War at the end of the world...
Armageddon and beyond. Apocalypticus Rex!!!

:wahah: :wahah: :wahah: :p h34r: :p h34r: :p h34r:

I know you know that the word 'train' as used in here is a case of Equivocation, the using of the same word to mean two different things. I am mentioning it for those unacquainted with logic. Nevertheless, both a locomotive-pulled series of wheeled boxcars and the King's long, flowing cape that is so long, it requires lackies to follow the king, and support it, lest it should drag accross the foor, do have a thing in common. However, that thing is the metaphor, the likeness of two things that are also quite different. It is likely that an Etymology for this word will reaveal some interseting usages.

On a lighter note, can anybody tell me what the pink cat-ears type hair ornamint is called?

I think this cuteling makes a few more appearance in this series. Other than Uranium, she is my favorite female.

Well.. Glad to hear from you... Whatever it meant before the locamotive is moot. It now means train, just like the one in the movie for purposes of cypher and interpretation.
And she is tooo cute.

I take it you refer to the child. She is cute, but the helmet obstructs her noggin too much.

When I was a kid in the 60s, I fell off my bike. I Remember my life flashing before my eyes, that one time. I think that would be cool to put in a computer game, just as the guy's health points are about to go to zero, his life flashes before his eyes. :D But, anyway, my mom insited that I wear a helmet from that day on. I did not want to stick out anymore than I already did (being crippled, and nobody wore helmets to bicycle in the 60s), and that really hurt me. I just wanted to be like the others. In this, I can relate to Atom and Pinocchio, both of whom just wanted to be normal little boys. I too, wanted to be just another boy, no more, but no less, either.

All Really "cutelings" are Shirley Temple.... In this dimension of timespace... Shirley Temple IS the temple. The entire USMC individually and collectively is referred to and portrayed as "A little girl"....
Thus in I.C.E. communications. The prize is always the ICE cream.
