Hi,
My name is Christopher and I think this new Astro boy is ****!!! What ever happend to the 80's. Back then, you had great Cartoons. Now, all you have is this digatal CRAP!!!! Nobody draws Cartoons anymore. That's when it was the best. When I saw Astro boy on my Satlllite, I got really excited becuase I have not seen astro boy since I was five years old and when I saw it, I was really, really mad. I had to change the chanel. I feel so sorry for kids today, because the have no idea what great things are. They don't know what Records, 8 tracks, Cassettes are. And to make things worse, They have no idea what great Cartoons are. These new Cartoons are just pure ****!!!! I hope people agree with me!!!

Hi Christopher, & welcome to the forums. Im a huge fan of astro from the 80's but I think I must side with another regular here. DrFrag. Yes it is a shame that they have lost part of the innocence and spirit of the 80's astro but as DrFrag has said in a different thread, each astroboy series, 60's, 80's & nauties
(2003) have different qualities and feels to them. From how Astro reacts & responds to others to how they are created. I am sorry that they have given astro the "attitude" that they have for the new series, But it is still a good quality anime. We must take this series at face value, not compare it to the others as though it were a mini series of astro. Each series is individual and should be seen for that, not discarded because its not like what we were used to. Just think of it like James Bond.....I LOVE Sean Connery, Roger Moore & Peirce Brosnan As Bond, But they are individual movies in there own respect and each have aspects that the others don't. I still love them all... Try waching the new series again and try to give it a chance, not just as an astroboy series But as a Quality ANIME...... WE LOVE YOU ASTRO, OH YES WE DO.....WE LOVE YOU ASTRO AND WE'LL BE TRUE......OH.,sorry i'll refrain from scaring you with my singing now
:wahah: :wahah:

I agree to a point, cartoons today just aren't as good as they used to be, but that has nothing to do with animators using computers though, blame stupid parents for wanting bland cartoons for their precious cotton brats (spoiled brat kids that are wrapped in cotton wool) Just look at Nickelodeon the best cartoon they had since Ren & Stimpy was Invader Zim and it got canned
However to call the latest Astro series crap is a bit much, I agree its not as good as the 80's version, personally I think it just doesn't have the same charm but I'll wait and see a few more episode before I make a final judgment

There is a wind-up 100% accustic record player in one of the new Astroboy episodes. Cowboy Bebop features a Betamax VCR, & no doubt, other anime feature old things as well. But, if you'r really in the mood to complain about long lost things, why not demand the return of organ grinders and monkeys with brass cups climbing up buildings begging for $$. I have never seen one of those (except in cartoons and B & W movies), but I am not too sad about it. I would like to try the original formula Coca-Cola, though; but tough luck, no chance for that.
I would suppose that since the industrial revolution, there has not been a generation that longed for the good ol' days. And that reminds me of an old cartoon, I think it was Gary Larson's The Far Side. Two wrinkled old dogs are in rocking chairs on the front porch, and one says something like "Kids these days (refers to the puppies with frisbees and other toys), when I was a pup, all we had to play with was an old cat's head."

Anyway, welcome to the forum!
