[SORRY I WAS NOT LOGGED IN]

I finally saw the episode which was always "still to be continued" ;)

But I'm disappointed. <_< I thought I would see a great battle between Astro and Pluto but Astro didn't really fight him...

He felt, lacking of energy or something like that (?????) (I didn't really understand why...). And against the other robot, Pluto saved Astro. Then, both Pluto and the other robot (his copy) have been destroyed, and it's not because of Astro. He didn't have anything to do... <_<

Astro didn't want to fight Pluto from an episode to another. And when he finally decided to fight him, it ends this way... Is the new Astro a looser?

Astro of the '80 series would have fought Pluto and beaten him...

In all the episodes we saw from the new serie, Astro didn't do so much things... The new serie didn't impress me until now... I hope the next will be better

well, im not sure about the second episode (havent seen the ending  ) but as i recall astro was all for kicking Plutos but in the first one and only stoped because his sister got in the way.... :)

What I don't like is that Astro is often saved by a big luck when he was about to be crushed by his enemy. Examples:

- When Atlas was about to destroy Astro but finaly said something like "I let you live for now [...] we could say we're brothers"
- vs Atlas on the moon: A "gravity overload" prevented Atlas from killing Astro.
- vs Pluto in the sky: A broken circuit prevented Pluto from shooting on Astro.
- vs Asheron: Pluto saved Astro who whas about to be killed by Asheron

Against his biggest ennemies, Astro always come very close to be destroyed, and if he isn't, it's always because he's very lucky.... and not because he's strong, wise or something like that... I mean, always because something happens or someone save him... This is not the Astro of the '80 serie...

I think that when they show him winning by using his "brain" or by someone stepping in as you suggest, it is showing his strength. His strength, not physically, but by showing that he has a very strong influence on those around him, that there are other ways to be strong. He has freed their "souls" so to speak and shows them that to stand for what you know is right, is also to be strong. Pluto felt that because Astro had shown him the importance of protecting those you care about, he had to act. Astro's strength is not just in horsepower. Just because Astro didn't throw the last proton blast, doesn't show he's weak, in my books. I would rather show my kids a charecter that uses ALL he has to solve things, rather than a charecter that blasts all his enemies at the first sign of trouble.

I totally agree with Loüßëãr: of course Astro had a little luck face to Pruto, but if he (and Uran) hadn't shown compassion toward him before, he wouldn't have stand a chance against Pruto.
That's the true message of this episode: show compassion event towards your ennemies, you might turn them into allies. The message was not that Astro is the luckiest robot on Earth :D
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.
