Astroboy Generations Website
Right now I am trying to number the stories, but there are differences between the dates in the Dark Horse books & the dates on the Tezuka site. Quite a few titles from volumes 22 &23 are not listed there.

What I want to do is to show how the stories first appearing in manga are handled by the animated versions. Most manga translate to anime frame for frame. That is, one frame of manga becomes 30-60 seconds of anime, & from the manga I have read, Trigun & Hellsing, there are no surprises. Both manga & anime follow the same plots. Atomu is quite different, though. His manga stories can be sources for segments of the anime, but rarely are they expanded frame by frame as in other titles. However, there were several that come to mind as examples of manga stories being rendered into anime.

I remember a few stories of the 80's anime which follow almost the same plot as shown in the mangas, like 'Robotland', 'Greatest Robot In The World', 'The Red Cat' etc.
However, certain things still are quite different.
It's a good thing that the anime producers didn't copy the manga stories one to one. That's what gives every Astroboy version its own special characteristics. B)
