Ok, this is kinda creepy, but... I figured I could bring it to your attention.

You know that scene in the 80s series, "Robot Circus", where Hamegg is yelling at "Toby" to get all the robot hippos on the conveyor belt. After Hamegg stops him and says, "Stop; look at the way the other skirts are on. Supid robot," HE LOOKS UP THE ROBOT'S SKIRT! This happens very fast, btw.

I was shocked they didn't edit that out. Anyway, just something amusing I thought I would point out.

Another episode where Ken and Alvin were shrunk and they were looking up Misty's skirt. I'm really surprised that it wasn't removed.

Really. Well how about the fact that Uran's undies are showing most of the time in the 60's or 80's series.

I mean I know this is part of the white suit she wears under her dress but why is it showing? Could have at least kept it inder the dress. Nothing against this fact though, just asking since this topic is brought up.

Here are some pictures from Uran the Imposter. They were posted in another message here. These are interesting.

I think for the Japanese people, if i'm not mistaken, showing the skin is not bad at all. This might be an explanation.

There are a lot of questionable moments in Japanese anime/video games (Xenosaga is really bad for this) where you'll find questionable content that seem to be made for pedophiles.

from the 60's to the 80's it was quite fashionable for little girls to have dresses so short that you can see their undies. Not that i was there, well i was for latter end of the 80's but i dont remember most of it seeing as i was only little. Anyway, you can tell the fashions by simply looking at cindy from the brady bunch. She always wore short short dresses where you could see her undies.

That scene you mention was edited out in the french 80's dub.
I wonder why actually, I mean what's the big deal about that scene. I find it rather amusing than offending :D .
Those scenes are harmless compared with certain other animes (which also get watched by 7year olds by the way).

As a fan of old movies, I remember more than once seeing Shirley Temple's undies exposed, often while she was dancing, but also in other scenes. More often, though, her thighs were exposed all the way to her panties, while she danced. I think it was considered cute to have little girls dresses 1 or 2 sizes too small, and their panties occasionally exposed. Little kids in general were apparently not considered sexual or sexually attractive by film makers until the mid 80s pedophile hunt, although the (self-imposed) Hayes Code did forbid showing their tinklers. Nevertheless, I think I read something about public reaction to the Coppertone girl's bottom when she first appeared on its ads. During that 'hunt', works of art, from photography to statues, that had been accepted as decent, were re-evaulated, and anything that depicted naked kids was suddenly though to be obscene, regardless of the poses or actions depicted. Thus, anyone born during or after that phase would likely hold those values.
