For those of you that don't visit the Madman forum much they now have a Astroboy forum to post in. There is also the official release site which has a countdown till Astro is out. Apparently it's November 10. Go visit the site here to see a picture of the tin box art too:

http://www.astroboy.com.au/

You can register via email for updates and apparently there will be a trailer coming soon.

Personally i don't like the tin box art.... It's the picture of his head from the front of the Siren video that had Uran first episode (the picture down the bottom left of this forum page). But it looks really weird, like someone has edited it funny....Not that it was my favourite head shot in the first place :P

EDIT: Hi-res picts look much better ^_^ box looks really cool

I really really really hope they have the Canadian TV series Dub somewhere on the discs...

Somehow I doubt this will be the case.

I at least hope that the Canadian Dub will be released eventually in Canada.

As for the price... It seems a hint too steep. I am used to paying about $40 bucks for a single season of popular TV shows from Future Shop. I guess we'll soon see.

I don't see why people are complaining about the price so much.... first of all let me remind you guys who don't live in Australia that the $200 is AUSTRALIAN dollars. Therefore if you live in the US and want to import it it will be cheaper. As of this moment AU$200 is equal to US$142.50.

This is the entire 80's series, 51 English episodes. This is equal to 2 seasons. As it is not a new release obviously a lot more effort has to be put into it for mastering the DVDs in terms of audio and video as well as obtaining extras.

Now lets say you decide the tin is too much. I can't remember how many discs this will be split over (or if it was said) but lets say there are 4 episodes a disc, you end up with about individual 12 DVDs. Lets say the discs are priced at AU$20 each (i think this was the price). 12 * $20 = $240!! Even if my amounts are off a little it's quite obvious it's gonna be heaps more expensive to buy the discs individually PLUS you'd miss out on the bonus tin case and extras that come with the limited edition!

I dunno about everyone else but given all this i think AU$200 is a very reasonable price and i'm certainly going to get it!

I think the same thoughts as u on this. To buy them individually will cost exactly the same as buying the tin box. But if u buy them individually, not only do u have to wait months b4 u can get all of them, u also miss out on all the special features. And of course the tin box :) .

So stop complaining ppl it's a great set.
