hmm, ok, seems pretty straightforward operation to me, download and install, just like the other installation packages, I'm not sure I can simplify it any more than that. Basically all you really need is the "May 22, 2003" package downloadable from le project page: fddshow

Thank you Dany for the link for Xvid...

I installed Divx, Xvid and fddshow so I'm sure to have any problem...

I downloaded the episode "Astroboy25-TheSnowLeopard(jap).avi" on the anapan's ftp... The image is very poor.. Like if I was watching a scratched DVD...

I wonder if it's the files or if I have beed another Codec or something like that....(?)

Thanks

Just a warning ... DivX v5 contains spyware. So once you install it, it will start transmitting information about you and your computer back to Gain Publishing. Here are instructions on how to remove the spyware component:

http://www.nanomessiah.com/dvd-backup/divx...vx-spyware.html

Basically all you need to do is download, install and run AdAware (no need to change any scanning configuration options, just run it). When the scanning results come up, tick every box except the registry key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{21ffb6c0-0da1-11d5-a9d5-00500413153c}.

AdAware is a very handy programme to run every month or so. The first time I ran it it detected all sorts of programmes that I didn't want on there.

I think this may be an important note to everyone who uses Ad-Aware 6 for the first time:

Don't delete that registry key!

After the Ad-Aware full scan option is done, this key-code will be shown somewhere between the scanning results. Deleting this code will disable any connection to the net.
This accidentally has happened to me a week ago as I did an Ad-Aware check on my system. I got a scanning result of about 152, ticked on every box I intended to delete without taking any notice of that darn key-code (I guess I was just too drowsy, should've gone to bed earlier <_< ), clicked on 'delete: yes', and good riddance to internet!

I ended up re-installing my whole Windows-shebang, but not without before saving about to ten 700MB CD's with Astroboy stuff on.
What's that proverb again containing the words 'damage' and 'smarter'? Well....

At least I wasn't quite bored during the last week's rainy days. B)

You're right. Nothing is better than to crash the system and go on a few days of marvelous maintenance :P
Oh I know! Next week-end I will just download a few viruses, worms and trojans and watch the fireworks B)
And then... Oh then... Installations over installations, with that neat progress bar going from 0% to 100% again and again :D
Those people saying "If it ain't broken, don't fix it" are just wrong. They should say "If it ain't broken, break it!" :P
