Hey all, especially those in Japan.

The official Japanese Astro site, Astroboy.jp, is in Japanese only so I can't read it and the official U.S. site, Sonypictures Astroboy, is a dead site with no news updates.
So what's the latest news of our little hero from Japan, I know there were 50 episodes made, but are there any more planned? I hope we don't have to wait another 20 years for more. :(

The latest news from Tezuka Prod. is that there're working on a new Black Jack tv series. This does seem to hint that they've moved on to other things. I hope if the new Astro movie is popular that they might make some more Astro episodes. Any news you've heard would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Thank you Jeffbert, now I know there's no new news from the Japanese site either.
It appears the last update was in March 2004, about episode 50 "The Final Verses" in which Astro finally gets to the bottom of and resolves the awkward relationship with his father. So unless someone in Japan knows something else, the tv series is over. :(

Well there's still the upcoming movie, I hope it's good. Evan if the new Astro has run it's course, we now have a wealth of Astro to watch, from the 60's, the 80's and today, which is about 300 episodes altogether plus some movies like Marine Express. All have been preserved on dvd so he's immortal and can't be forgotten  , I'll never forget him or get tired of him. I just wish he'd get more exposure in the U.S. I'd love to watch Cartoon Network late one night and find Astro Boy. They did recently commit him to there library, but haven't said when they'll show him. Wouldn't it be cool if some channel showed the 60's eps.

Thanks again Jeffbert.
