You know how Astro doesn't cry much in the current or 80's version of Astro. But in the original manga and the 60's anime he could cry buckets. Case in point in the 60's episode no. 1: The Birth of Astro, when he's rejected by his father and he cries "Ya said ya loved me like I was your own flesh and blood"

But that was just the tip of the iceberg. In that episode he just cried a little. In a later episode The Eyes of Christ, which I don't think's been transelated for fear it would offend some Christians. <_< Humph, I saw nothing anti-Christian, did you? I have the raw Japanese version and there's a scene which is also in the original manga so I was able to tell just what Astro's robot father told him that made him cry. First Astro was intrusted with a briefcase that he wasn't supposed to let anyone have. But his robot father had other ideas and wanted to return it to the gangsters and he said "Are you disobeying your father Astro? Continue acting this way, and your're no longer my son!!"
Then something happened that I wasn't expecting, certinally not from the light hearted 60's Astro. Astro's heart broke and he began to cry like I've never seen before.

They were outside waiting for his robot father to show up from giving the briefcase back. His mother finally comforted him, telling him something like his dad didn't mean it and he should go look for him. This creered Astro up some so he went off to find him and he did, but unconcious and damaged by the gangsters that took the briefcase he was carrying.
This started Astro crying again, then he rushed him by ambulence to Ohanomizu's lab where he was repaired and he and Astro made up and his father gave him permision to do his superhero thing.

So there you have it. If you have this episode watch it and see if it doesn't supprise you and move you to tears. I can't resist that cry, it's too good, and I think Astro should cry once in a while. It relieves tension and he needs to do that because there's so much tragedy in his life. I'm sure he feels better later. Also it shows that he's just like a human, after all deep down, he's still Tobio isn't he?
