Pearl: What color is it?
True: It's green with red spots and blue squares.
Pearl: Did the doctor set you again to lie mode? <_<
True: No of course ^_^

But the thing is that she is unaware that the robot lies. [/b][/quote]
The funny thing is that True was so zealous in lying that Pearl became suspicious :P
A green seashell with red spots and blue squares? Yeah right... <_<
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

I don't know what the scene is about and don't know the characters (I guess the boy is named "True" and the girl is "Pearl"), but here is what I got out of this picture! BP

True: Hmm... A statue of a girl with something in her hand... OH WOW! IT'S A SEA SHELL! *reaches out to grab it*

Pearl: *slaps True's hand with her free hand* MINE! *continues to look blankly ahead of her*

True: ;_; *rubs his sore hand*

The girl (Pearl) lost her sight and her mother in a car accident. She will never see again, so her robot friend True has been programmed to lie to her to keep her spirits up. But he ends up lying about everything. In this scene he tells her the seashell is blue.

Doesn't mean it can't be about a girl tripping out on drugs and offering a dog treat to a boy on halloween. :D

Asimov's 1st law would allow a robot to lie in the case that the human would be emotionally or otherwise harmed by the truth. :D I myself, prefer the truth to the delusion.

But since some other people prefer delusion to the truth, should the robot ask the person before answering?
Pearl: What color is that seashell?
True: Do you prefer the truth or the delusion?
Pearl, thinking: What is that silly programmation my father used in that robot? It's worse each time I ask for the color of that damned seashell
