Right Stuf needs English Astro films.

:wahah: Attention American Astro fans: An American video company, The Right Stuf, that owns the rights to the 60's English language Astro Boy(the Billie Lou Watt dubs) needs some of the episodes from the original film source. I already offered to loan them my Japanese dvds, but they already have them and they can't dub over the Japanese audio with the English dubs due to the English version being edited. Thanks for posting this. Looks like they only need another 15 episodes. B)

I've pointed Shawne in the direction of a 16mm source for episode 95, so hopefully that'll show up in the final release.

(I'm surprised they can't dub over the Japanese footage and make cuts where appropriate. With professional equipment this should be a trivial task. I've done it myself with VirtualDub of all things.)

Hi all,

I emailed the Right Stuf again about releasing the Japanese version with subs and this is the response:

"I believe the plan is to offer the English verison, as well as to provide "deleted scenes" in Japanese with English subtitles, as this show was edited pretty heavily for broadcast. This is what we did for the upcoming Kimba (1965) release.

I'll check this site as well.

:wahah: Cool! I just hope they release the last half of the series that was never dubed. They'll probably be posting here for some more opinions on what we want on this release, like Madman did with the 80's release.
