I have a question for everybody. What would cause a person not to have any motivation? I get home from work and just sit in front of the TV. or computer. I should be doing alot of things like clean, do wood projects that I've been planning to do for a long time, exercise, or trying to advance myself. I just sit and do nothing for hours at a time. This is starting to depress me. Please, any help or suggestions would be helpful and appreciated.

Sunlight should help stimulate your brain. Antarctic workers can barely do anything by the end of a long dark winter.
Certain foods can affect your motivation. Avoid things like junk food of course, but also try to favour brown bread/rice over white bread/rice. Turkey and lettuce can also make you sleepy and kill your motivation.
If there are any social activities you can be involved in then that can help a lot. Things like sporting groups, church groups, computer groups, etc. It's good to interact with people. Bad relationships can also get you down.
See a doctor if pain persists. (a real one, not like me

It's a little hard to say from here.
Has it been this way for a long time, or is it recent? Do you feel physically well? Do you still have an interest in your projects? Did something unusual or sad happened recently? Are you stressed?
You don't have to answers all these questions here, of course, but maybe answering them could give you a lead.
I know I sometimes lose interest in things I usually like for a little time, but it usually comes back. As for cleaning and other chores, my only motivation to do them is to live in a good environment!

Getting out more could help.
I meant that as in, play or do any sport type activity.
I for one, am interested in bowling, tennis, soccer, basketball, kickball, and flag football (which is 1 thing i need more practice in.
)
Another idea is playing non-sport activities; outdoor games that are fun, like sometimes involve running, biking, and maybe even swimming.
These ideas could help. At least I gave it a shot.

Thank you, you're too kind.
It may be caused by pure depression. I know what it is because I sometimes have depressions that pop up from nowhere
Maybe just in case you should follow DrFrag's advice and see a doctor.
I would love telling you how I get rid of them, but I don't really know how I do. It's something like: "Why are you here?" - "For no good reason." "Then go away!" - "I'm going away." Of course, that's not as simple as that, it may take a few hours or days, but it usually works.

The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

The feeling has to last at least two weeks to be classified as a depression, however. In any case, wow!

But I found out that watching Astroboy episodes was a very good start to get back in a good mood!

If you can snap yourself out of it like that then it's probably not depression. This looks like a good site:

However, lack of motivation doesn't always equal depression. You might just be stoned.
