I wasn't thinking only of ADSL. Why download images that might not even be needed? :huh: Some pages already take so much time to load with an "old" modem.

Local communications are free in Canada too. Well, as long as you pay the standard fees to the phone company each month, of course.

Because an idle connection is considered to be wasted when a few minutes later it will be too slow to load the page/image, the developpers considered a good idea to preload pages/images to save time for the user Everyone does not consider it is a good idea obviously, it can probably be turned off

Quite a few Astroboy fan artists on the web (Astroboy Fan, Astroboy Union, Hijiriya Gazou, Kitty-Kids, Nishi, Sky-High Egoism, Watarase Yuuichi, etc) have zero distribution policies. And linking straigh to an image (so it displays on another site) is considered rude at the least.

Well I went back and edited my 2 posts and changed all the pics to links. It was easy, all I did was remove the IMG tags on each one. So it's still hot linking, but at least the load will be reduced on their servers (because it won't automatically download all the time).

I'd recommend it for the others as well.
