Astro: "Why are you hiding, Uran?"

Uran: "Shhhhhhhh!! I don't want mom to know that I'm listening to Eminem..."

So far, this is the funniest caption. Why are so many neglecting to post their own captions for this pic? c'mon, everybody, post some captions. Astro forever has been carrying the game almost by himself. Sorry Eileen sobora, Dragonrider1227, and tic_tac_astro. I just did not see the humor in your captions, but keep trying. I do think that the idea of forbidden activity performed within the box so mama won't know is a good start, but this pic seems best suited to shorter captions than either Eileen sobora's or Dragonrider1227's

Let me quote Steve Martin: "Well, excu-u-use me!" I had no way of knowing. Because I prefer grammatical over political correctness, my only alternative was this:

"Astro forever has been carrying the game almost by itself."

However, while this is proper English grammar, it is not considered polite. 'It' has been long time associated with non-humans, as well as the person who is trying to tag you before you can reach the base.

Anyway, I will try to rember that you are female, but please do not hold it against me if I should forget. :D

I prefer "himself" over "itself", yes, thank you! :D

I'm not offended at all, especially since my nickname is neutral (which is my fault since I chose it) and there aren't many girls/women around here. But I thought it was kind of funny that I you mistakenly thought I was male for more than 5 months now!

French is a lot better in this regard: you'd have known it from the start just because of the grammar! :) This is one of the thing I miss a little bit when I read English forums, it's hard to know who is male or female! I make those mistakes often.

I know that german has a masculine, feminine, and neuter word for 'the,' (the definite article), but know next to nothing about French, other than that I like Berlioz' Marsailles with childern in the chorus. I also like Symphonie Fantastique.

:o I had heard La Marseillaise before but had never paid attention to the lyrics after the first two lines... Wow, it's violent! I know it's because of the context in which it was written but it's really warlike! As for the Symphonie fantastique, I've heard it but never with lyrics. I didn't even know there were lyrics...

To keep things simple, if fafner wants to write "I am happy", he'll write "Je suis heureux", while I would write "Je suis heureuse". Therefore it's easy to know the gender of the writer because his/her own writing is or will eventually be telling.

However, since "house" is feminine in French, if somebody talks about fafner's house in French, I'd have no way to know if fafner is male or female because everything regarding his house will agree with the feminine gender (just like what you said above about "the" in German). We don't have anything like "his/her" in French; IIRC, they do care about the owner's gender in German, which makes it even more tricky. French doesn't have neuter either.

In case you want more details: Gender

I only have one idea but I don't know how to word in concisely.

The joke is that Astro sneezes and his eyes fall out, but it's not funny if I explain it and I don't think it makes much sense if I just write "Ahchoo!".

I did not think I said anything about lyrics, & do not think there were any for the Symphonie Fantistique. I only liked the singing by the women & children in that piece.
