A little cross reference to M. C. Escher.
What's that? I've never heard of him. I was actually going to ask in the Photoshop game thread! [/b]
Maurits Cornelis Escher was a mathematical artist whose works are comprising many lithografical arts, including pictures of many paradoxical and impossible building constructions. In his works, he didn't care for the law of gravity and physics most of the time.
I think he had a lot in common with Salvador Dali, although his pictures are tending to be surreal in a more 'mathematical' way than the ones of Dali's are.
If you're interested, here's a link to a fanpage, featuring many of his artworks:

Astro's body is shaking as he's struggling to get up, but the machine gun stays totally stable:

Okay, an animation would have been more appropriate, but I was too lazy!

This reminds me on a cartoon character which was handling a running jackhammer. His body was shaking like crazy while the hammer stood perfectly still with its shovel stuck in the concrete.

I can't remember whose cartoon it was tho, either Disney's or Tex Avery's, but I'm not sure...
