2003 Advanced Astro design

I was looking at one of the last manga Tezuka did where Astro is found floating in space frozen to a monolith looking block. It's where he's rebuilt with that star on his head and that thick black chest plate...

Just realized that was the new body Astro was shown by Doctor Tenma in the 2003 series.

do you think if they ever realize the second season of the 2003 version (cough, cough) will it appear when astro suddenly gets taking away from O,Shay and put his electronic
brain into the new body and no one recognize him anymore (cough, cough)

I don't think so, Tenma was arrested and therefore wasn't in a position to do anything. Astro's ennemies wouldn't want him to get stronger anyway, and his friends love him, so I don't see why they'd want to put him in a body that he doesn't want himself.

That body design wasn't very popullar in Japan when Tezuka drew it. People don't like their familliar Atom being tampered with.

Astro shows Reno the body he pulled from the destroyed Level 17....

Astro: Doctor Tenma wanted to move me into this.

(Reno walks around it)

Reno: A pair of platform shoes, long hair, a white suit and a disco ball might improve the looks.

Astro: You want me to smack you?

Reno: It would make you taller.

(Astro moans)

Reno: Well....what do you want me to do with it?

(after some thought, Astro and Reno stand back from the Uchima Love Motel in Tokyo giggling at the John Travolta re-designed battle body holding a multi-colored strobe ball at the top of the building.)

Astro: How orriginal.

Reno: You are so.....so.......so not right in the brain bucket.

Astro: Sushi?

Reno: yes.
