Let's hope Zoran doesn't stick. As Jeffbert said, it's just the latest English name. In the 60's it was Astro Girl, which meant you could never call Astro Boy, just plain Astro, <_< annoying. Astro himself is really Mighty Atom, but since there was an American comic character with the same name back in 1963, we had to come up with a new name for him <_< , stupid copyright laws, who cares about an American comic character who doesn't exist anymore. Ohh well, a whole generation got used to Astro, so were stuck with it, but it's ok, but Zoran <_< , not. The 80's used her real name, but pronounced it Yourain.
Her name is Uran, short for Uranium and pronounced Ooran, and often called Uran-Chan by her family and freinds. The reason they toy with her name in English so much is it sounds like either Urine or Uranus. This would upset some parents but make kids roll on the floor laughing. It doesn't bother me and I will always call her Uran or Uran-Chan.
So please, no more Zoran.
Ohh by the way, someone said something about what Inspector Tawashi's name in French, meaning brush, well his Japanese name Tawashi means Scrub-brush.There were some scenes where he uses his nose as one. Like scrubbing Dr. Ochanimizu's nose in an argument. :wahah:
