In China, he is considered to be ASTROBOY, certainly, this is wrong.?<_<

Actually, he is Astro Boy. As I said in this and other threads about Jetter Mars, he was suposed to be the first all color Astro remake(1977), but since Tezuka's company Mushi Productions was bankrupt and Tezuka was producing the show at Toei Productions, he had trouble securing the copyrights in time for the shows release, so he had to change the design and the name of Mighty Atom to Jetter Mars, as well as some of the suppoting characters, but the basic Astro story line is still there. I consider this show to be the 1970's chapter of the Astro saga and look foward to it's release on dvd.

The reasons Tezuka abandon this show was the people at Toei were trying to micro-manage him, thus hampering his creative genius so he got bored with it, and only 1 season got produced, about 24 episodes I think. By 1980 Tezuka had a new company, Tezuka Productions, so he was now ready to do a new Astro the way he wanted to. Now in the year 2005, some people around the world want to see the Jetter Mars show again. to many this was the only version of Astro Boy they saw and in some countries, his name is translated to Astro. So please everyone, don't reject this show. It's made by Tezuka and it's another take on Astro(Mighty Atom). ;) [/b][/quote]
Jetter Mars It is the works of TEZUKA. However, I do not think this can be proved, Jetter Mars! It is ASTROBOY, even it is ASTROBOY to translate into. Jetter Mars has no sprayer , Astroboy no jacket. ;) Jetter Mars and superman are more similar, they all struggle against fluffying . ;) Father of Jetter Mars is not Temma, the guardian is not Doctor Elefun

I think , can not put Jetter Mars under the ASTROBOY play to arrange .

I'm not putting down Jetter at all. If they'd make a second 2003 season he should come back in a camio.

Supplement :
In 1980, CCTV broadcast ASTROBOY of 1960. Today, the articles of some of people, use this picture. However, Jetters Mars is not ASTROBOY in 1960, so, I say , they are wrong. Even, Jetters Mars is ASTROBOY, but, he can not be ASTROBOY of 1960 ;)

I use the translation software.

Dannavy85, your understanding, possible mistake, because of the software. Chinese is:

Jetter: You need a brain though

(falling glue, feathers from above)

Atlas Boy: Banzai! Banzai! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Astro: You want to use him as a wish bone?

Jetter: Nope.....carpeting.

Acctually in the recent Gameboy game version of Astro, Jetter Mars did make a camio. Atom and Mars talked to one another and I think Mars might have helped Atom in some way. I have the game, but I haven't got that far yet.

So no one doubts my statements about Jetter Mars, here's my sources:

Here's a pic of Jetter Mars telling off Hamegg:

Mars: Now you behave yourself or I'll kick your butt!
Hamegg: YYYesir, Mr. Mars.
You tell him Mars.

Ohh, I can't find a picture, but one episode of Jetter Mars delt with the headless robot Dam-Dam which was taken directly from the Astro manga. The Jetter Mars version in the 1970's was the first anime version of this story. Tezuka later remade the story with the 80's Astro anime.

According to StellDream, CCTV is trying to pass Jetter Mars as Astro circa 1960's, but they need to do their research, it's circa 1970's in which Jetter Mars was made.

Thanks for keeping this thread going everyone. ;)

It would have been great if they'd used Jetter Mars as True in The Liar Robot of the 80s series. He was supposed to have a remarkable resemblance to Astro.

You are right, it would have been cool! Both wear red/blue and have similar head shapes. Was Jetter Mars able to fly? He would have needed to be able to do so.

Maybe there were copyright issues the other way this time?
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

I wondered the same thing. There are only 3 years between both series.
