Notice how his scarf turns into a cape when he flies.
Also notice the car in second pic. I think it's the same one Tobio wrecked in, in both the manga(vol. 1) and the first episode in the 80's. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure. Sorry, don't have the manga handy to double check. I'll check later. If I'm right, it's something else linking Jetter Mars to Mighty Atom.

As for the car, I checked in the first manga. The car is not identical, but it's close! I haven't checked in the 1st 1980 episode.
