 Hence his name Torch. He seems to be not a very bright light, otherwise there would be a light bulp appearing above his head.
Although in the new series his name is Lamp, still he hadn't become any smarter.

More serious, it's a shame that the new series are lacking Tezuka's special humor.

The missing pants!!! :wahah:

As for the candle, I took it as an easter egg as well. This is often how this character is represented (link to Tezuka World for Acetylene Lamp). But it's definitely worthy of a picture! :D

Did you notice the little problems a little later? DrFrag posted them months ago in this thread in this post and this one too. I especially like the first one! I hadn't even seen it!

 I didn't really took notice of most mistakes mentioned here until this topic was raised. Of course a few discolorations had occured to me beforehand, but the biggest mistakes always used to slip through before my eyes. It was like "spotting the mosquitos without noticing the elephants". :P

I wouldn't have noticed this one if I had not made the gif: there is no cover (what's the right word? ) on the trunk while the Viking is sitting up. It only appears before it's opening.

Same here, it seems I spot the mosquitos first and the elephants last! I found some of the biggest mistakes in episodes in which I couldn't seem to find anything wrong for a while!

In Lilly on Peligro Island, the fire out of Astro's jets is white:

This is one episode in which I couldn't seem to find anything wrong. How do you bet there is an elephant I missed somewhere?

I've yet to find a mistake in "The Wreck of the Titan" and "The Girl From Alsoar". The one I found in "The Secret of the Mayas" was questioned by someone so I'm looking for another one! :P It's a little challenge I've set for myself! ;) I'm sure there is something like Astro having 3 arms in one of them!

In Uran's Quest, the little boy who asks a question to Dr. Zar before Uran is never dressed the same way! In the third pic, even his hair is different! :D

Are you refering to this one single frame?

I love that scene. This dude ended up professional packed like a sardine in a can.

;) IMO, the reason being for that are different light reflections. The boy's front gets illuminated by Dr. Zar's fluorescent emission of light while his back faces the shadow side of the room. As he runs out, his clothes are caught by the sun's UV light which again makes them look different. Same goes for his hair.

Yes, and the one right before it too. I've kept those two and the next one here:

I love that scene too! :D By the way, in case you or somebody else is wondering, your image looks weird because I had optimized the gif. It makes its size a bit smaller (20% less) by keeping only the parts where the color is changing from one frame to the next! :) It can be unoptimized though, at least in my software! :D

How do you explain the short sleeves in the first picture? ;) I thought of this too to be honest, but while I can understand from orange to yellow in the first and second pics, the green jersey seemed a little too much to me. From the second pic to the third one, even the haircut seems totally different to me. Maybe that's not the same boy, but the scene makes it looks like it's supposed to be.

The Girl From Alsoar, 6:50, when Astro's clothes disintegrate there is rocket jet behind his foot shape.

It looks to me as if it's because his feet had retracted in his boots though.

The Secret of the Mayas, 3:08, the Professor's collar is missing. Senor Garcia's mole comes and goes throughout the episode.[/quote]

I'll pay attention to the mole the next time I'll watch it. :)

Thank you very much for sharing these with us, Guest! :D You have an impressive eye! B)

Yeah, I use that option too. It makes the colors to appear much brighter that way and the animation's becoming smoother.
BTW, I'm using the freeware Animake. The only annoying thing about this programm is that you'll get connected with its website everytime you close the application. Seems to be a common problem with some freeware stuff.

Ahem, well... er.., it's an optical illusion caused by the Mighty Dr. Zar Himself :D . More seriously, any explanations are failing here. 1:0 for you!

You have to imagine of it being a plush sweater. You know how they use to change colors when exposed at different light sources. :D

As for the haircut, blame the boy's barber who's apparently done a nasty job. His sleeve to the left got cut free while the one to the right's coming over like the one from John Lennon in his twenties. When do boys happen to have even haircuts anyway.

Thanks for the link to Animake! :D
