I think what was universally cut though was a good 5 minutes per episode... :shifty:

Episode 1 - 3:22 cut
Episode 17 - 3:39 cut
Episode 26 - 4:01 cut
Episode 41 - 3:38 cut
Episode 47 - 3:38 cut
Episode 49 - 3:24 cut
Episode 50 - 3:24 cut

That's just what I happen to have on my hard drive at the moment. Two minutes were cut from the opening/closing/trailers for each episode, leaving around 80 to 120 seconds of episode footage removed. It looks like it was done mostly to shorten the episodes to get more ads in, as all the English episodes are very close to 20:10 in length. Give or take three seconds, that's pretty precise.

The 80s version was heavily cut between Japanese and English. The French version was even more heavily cut (as if it were even possible). I think I remember that Astro Forever had reported up to 5 minutes cut. The most emotionally charged episodes were the most butchered of course.
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

-Sarcasm alert!- Yes, Heaven forbid we give the violence any CONTEXT! It should be senseless or else the kids might start to think that maybe killing is BAD! -End sarcasm-
