I'm ticked. I never have any luck when ordering things. To top that off my Astroboy manga hasn't arrived yet.

When I ordered the Madman 80s Astroboy, the package took a long time to arrive. In fact, I suspect now that it had been held too. Problem is that they charged an additional 30 euros (about 35-40 US $) for various taxes. Import? Inspection fees? I don't know, I just had to pay to get the package :shifty:

I don't get duty fees at all. They were awfully high for Madman's boxset... but all the series I've ordered since with one exception (vol. 1 of La Linea from Germany) never had those fees, and they weren't labeled as "gifts" either. Now whenever I order something, I just have no clue wether there will be fees or not.

Fafner, it took about a month to get my box, but it took only 8 days to receive the missing DVDs from the time I've sent them an e-mail about it. They were labeled as gifs though. But my other DVD for which there were duty fees got delivered very fast, so I don't think duty problems were the reason. I just think it's Madman that is (or was) very slow. I was so glad that they had a nice customer service, I was angry because I thought it would take another month to get my missing DVDs! I was also scared I'd have to call to Australia (I had visions of myself on the phone in the middle of the night, trying to get used to a fast English Australian speaker while having a hard time to be understood with my French Canadian accent... ).

I've ordered a series from France at mid-August. 33 days later, the company was still waiting for the supplier to send them the box. :shifty: By that time, I checked to see if it was available somewhere else and found it for $30 CAN less (including delivery fees) from a Belgian site. Needless to say, I very gladly cancelled my first order! :D

Now the second company seems to be having the same problem (not surprising since I'm sure it's the same supplier). Anyway, I don't mind waiting for that one, especially to save 30$. At least they've yet to bill me.

The thought that crossed my mind was: "Wow, I didn't think France was that big... more than a month to get send a box from one French company to another?"

:) At least, you seem to get your item nonetheless. I remember how I was waiting in anticipation after I placed the order for the '1980 Astro Boy Ultimate Fan Guide' (see also discussion in this thread), and then after 6 months of waiting all of a sudden this release got canceled. I received a mail from TheRightStuff saying that they were unable to deliver this item, along with an explanation about the possible where's and why's of this cancelation (don't know the exact reasons anymore tho).

:( Since then, I never had heard anything about a re-edition of mentioned fan guide. Hopefully they will manage to get this thing released some day...

The thing is, the last item I've ordered is a collectors box, so who knows if I'll finally be able to get it... But there wasn't a lot of time between when it was released and when I put my first order (maybe around 2 weeks), so it would really be a surprise if I couldn't get one. That's why I wonder what's happening, I would find it surprising if they were already producing new boxes because they didn't have any in stock, and if there aren't any available, then why did some sites recently started listing the product since it's a limited edition?

*head explodes*

What really gets me is that I ordered the cd express, only because it wasn't that much extra for shipping if I did it that way, and lets just say that I was feeling "adventurous." ;) But now this happened and I'll have to wait as long as I would if the product wasn't shipped express. *sigh* Ya know, I should be thankful it's coming at all. I don't know why I'm complaining.

Nah, I agree it's a bit frustrating to pay for an extra and ending up not getting it, even if the amount isn't great. ;) Sure, there is worse in life, but as costumers we want to get what we pay for. :)

I think Yes Asia ships from Hong Kong, which, as I understand it, does not participate in international copyright laws. Thus, any video shipped from HK, would be more likely suspected of piracy. :p irate:
