Felix The Cat

Postby Strange Wings » 19 years ago

Anyone ever heard of Felix The Cat? This cartoon used to run on our TV somwhere in the middle of the 80's.
His appearance is very reminiscent of Astro's, not only because of the hairstyle (or better said: earstyle, as in Felix's case).
I even can recall having some comic books lying around.

Cute kitty. I enjoyed reading/watching those cartoons.

Yeah, thankfully they'd changed his attitude through the course of decades.

This reminds me at an animated movie called 'Fritz The Cat', whose main character is behaving himself pretty nasty. I think the movie's creation dates back to 1972. I never saw it actually, just read some summaries about it.

Tom and Jerry was created in 1940.
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

I saw it, & yes, it was rather nasty. I think that when studios began departing from the Hayes code, some creators went nuts and tried to make films absoulely as offensive or anti-Hayes as possible. This might be one such case. Profane for the sake of profanity, etc. But it was rather funny, esp. the segment with Patton & Hitler. :D If anyone wants clarification, watch it youself. I only vaguely recall the details. & this is not the place to discuss them. :p irate:
