Beware: Jeffbert's threads have login prompts

Once again, Bullguard has declared my public folder as private. Thus, every time anyone, myself included, visits any page that has even one (1) link to one of my images hosted by Bullguard, that person will see a login prompt. In fact, as many login prompts as there are links to images.

If you see any suspicious login prompt, do not panic. Just click Cancel.

Unfortunately, these prompts are anywhere my images once were, including threads started by others. My appologies, but I hope that this will be resolved soon. irate:

i especially hate the ones ou get when you surf sites sponsoerd by porn ads, they pretend to be a computer scan popup from your pc but if you don't exit them and click yes it installs porno longdistance dialling exe's. haven't fallen for one yet but they is still annoyin stoopid ****s

You can block a lot of ads by changing your "hosts" file. It's in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (if you're using Windows XP, I'm not sure for other operating systems).

Open it with a text editor like notepad, and you can redirect any web site to any IP address. The IP address for yourself is always 127.0.0.1, so if you point all ads sites to that address it won't be able to find them and you won't see them on web pages. Like this:

127.0.0.1 ad.dk.doubleclick.net
127.0.0.1 ad.doubleclick.be
127.0.0.1 ad.doubleclick.com
127.0.0.1 ad.doubleclick.de
127.0.0.1 ad.doubleclick.net

You can find comprehensive hosts files by searching Google. Mine's pretty old but it still blocks most ads.
