New Samsung 32' LCD

Postby jeffbert » 18 years ago

I just finished connecting the system, & I can hardly wait for my mom to go to bed, because that will be my turn with it! :D It has a 4000:1 contrast ratiio, & even with ceiling lights on, all but the darkest scenes are clear. :D My PC's LCD has only a 500:1 contrast ratio, but even that, when compared to the old curved glass screen, was a vast improvement.

Unfortunately, we too late realized that the remote control was absent. But I was able to make the cable control control the basic features, & there are a few controls on the set itself.

I'm happy for you, jeffbert! :D Will you be able to get a remote control later, or is it that there isn't any for this model?

And to think I still have CRTs, for TVs and computer!

It sometimes shows signs of fatigue, so I guess eventually I will get a LCD, too. I know they are not that expensive anymore and people tell me I should just switch now, but I'm not one to throw away things while they are still working.

Our JVC tv was not more than 4 years old, but its picture was very distorted.

Hopefully I didn't sound like I meant that you shouldn't have bought something that you didn't need... because that was not my intention at all. :astro:

It's just that I wait for a similar excuse to buy one. :whistling: My father knows how much I'd like to have a LCD and he likes to tease me, saying I'll break my computer screen on purpose.
