I do not have enough questions to make a true round, but I have one, just for fun. :D

In which 1980 episode can we see a man falling from the window of a building, using an umbrella as a parachute? :p

Come on people, at least take a guess if you have no clue. :D

"jeffbert" wrote:I had to clarify a few of the questions as follows:
  1. In the 80s series, how many episodes can you name that had treasure seekers in them?
It should include an expedition, encampment, or excavation. I exclude robbery.
  2. How many 80s episodes can you name that have humans committing crimes specifically against robots? Kids' teasing does not count. Black Looks ("Blackie Young," "Horace Hooligan," "Sharky Dirk") was one character who robbed & destroyed robots. Thus his story was one that featured humans directing their criminal activity only against robots. We could say that Guiss abused Atlas, but this is not the thing I want. I want another episode in which a human or humans seek out robots as their victims.
  3. Other than Atlas, name another humanoid robot in the 80s that thought all humans were bad.
  4. R-45 had Atom read the video memory from a wrecked robot, in order to see the criminal's face. Name another 80s episode in which this method is used.
  5. Incarnations question: in which stories (including series*) did Atom receive his parents? *Must state the version of the story. Thus, 60s, 80s, manga (naming publication helps).
  6. Extra credit: Which article of the 80s robot law makes it a capital crime for robots to leave the country without government permission?
  7. BONUS QUESTION: in the 60s, Atom sees a mother horse and its offspring, and envies the horse, because it has a mother. In the 80s, he sees Shibugaki's mother showering him with comfort after the incident at the amusement park, and he then desires a mum of his own. In the 80s what other thing or person does he envy, in which episode, & why?

"Astro Forever" wrote:Since nobody else played, I'll give my answers to jeffbert's previous quiz:

1.
The Monster of Clarken
The Hijack Airship I would not have thought this one had any treasure seekers in it.
The Human-Faced Rock Yes
The World of Odin Yes
The Wreck of the Titan Yes, although they did not set out from the start as treasure seekers. Hmm, I ought to know by now that this is "Ivan the fool," but I still had to look in the guide.

I wasn't sure of The Secret of the Mayas: they are treasure seekers, but it also ends up being a robbery. Robbery or not, they were under the impression that they were just excavating an archeological site. It only became robbery once Monsuir Ampere realized that there 1 of the 2 Duke Reds was in the freezer. I would accept this answer.

Even The Human-Faced Rock and, to a lesser extent, The Monster of Clarken could be classified as robberies, in a way.
I disagree. A robbery must involve a victim, usually a human. In Face, there certainly was the element of pursuing the treasure while recklessly endangering the village. In Monster, nobody was robbed; however, Kin Sankaku was likewise pursuing his goal heedless of the damage to the eco system.

2.
A Robot President
Uran The Tomboy
Blackie Young
Uran Falls in Love
Yes. I had not thought of the first two, but they do fit the description. The second two were the ones I used as basis for the question.

My questionable one was The Greatest Robot in the World. Yes.

3. Fireball. :) Yes!

4. Uran Falls in Love. Yes. I keep forgetting the English titles, relying instead upon TOW: Astroboy 1980 episode list.

5. I only know of Atlas Lives Again. yes. The 1960s was Franken, while the manga was Gas People, although the story was split into 2 in the manga books, & the part we want is Astoboy's Parents, which was #1 in the sequence.

6. Article 136 (in Robot Land; apparently, it's article 9 in Lilly on Peligro Island according to jeffbert! I wonder if it's a case of bad translation. It would be interesting to check in the Japanese version. :p ) Yes.

7. Humans, because they have dreams, in The Hijacked Airship. Yes.

Jeffbert, what was Uran's paradox? I have no clue.

Now I cannot remember the questions. It has to do with the English-language version's sequence, which in the 1960s & 2003, has her creation after her appearance in another episode. :astro:

1 was about people who were out treasure seeking, rather than just finding treasure, but its all because the forum no longer does nested quotes.

TOW: Astroboy 1963 series has the episode guide under "subtitle." However, the titles are usually different than those given by Fredd Ladd & Co. in the NBC translation.

yey!!!

good thing that episode was included in 7 of the 51 episodes i got.
heres one for you,but im sure its easy...and no,this is not a proper round, either.

witch 1980's AND 2003 episodes where bassed off of a famous theatrical production about the tragidys of love, and a famous tale about a boy who never grew up.

(the 1980's is the theatrical one,and the 2003 one is the tale.i want both the names of the things they where bassed off of,AND the episode names! if you cant find anything, just put down what you know and i'l; check if your right)

As for the 80's: 'Romeo & Juliet', astro-lized into 'Robio & Robiette'.

Concerning the '03 one: 'Peter Pan', astro-lized into 'Eternal Boy'
