Good for you, Sparx; the time to start working on that is while you are still young, you will benefit from any improvements.

I'm glad to see that what was apparently a misunderstanding is resolved. :)

I really did not know what had happened, Sparx. It's not like we mods keep telling everything to each others. ;)

Sparx, it looks like you are too impulsive :D I was too impulsive when I was your age too, and I still am by moments. When I am upset by something, I always try too cool down and think about it after re-reading twice or more. Very often, I will find out that I misunderstood what was written, or more precisely that I interpreted it in a biased way.
Now about you "lying" about piloting a F-14, I must say that the way you speak about that sounds like someone who speaks a lot about something because he/she knows he/she can't do it. However, speaking that way certainly doesn't mean that it applies to you. But people will often make the shortcut between something that sounds likely with something that is certain. You alone know whether you can do it or not. People who say you can't (as well as the ones who say you can) aren't the ones who know, even if they believe so ;) Sooner or later, you will pass tests for that. You succeed, you do it. You fail, you give up and do something else. Plain and simple :D Other people can't pass the test for you :p

You have Asperger syndrom crazyd2000? I suspect I have it since a few months, but it is not confirmed (never talked to a doctor about that). People keep saying I am too logical while I think that most people aren't enough, that alone is enough :p
By the way, there seems to have a link between Asperger and ADHD. Sparx, were you diagnosed with Asperger? I know by experience (at least I suppose) that having Asperger as a child without being aware of it can lead to serious troubles similar to what you are saying.
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

In any case, I enjoy your displays of logic anyway. :D

I have only seen one case of Asperger syndrome in my life, and it was a pretty severe one. I had no clue that there were probably so many milder cases. I really feel ignorant now! Educate me if you feel like it. :)

I'm sure you enjoy especially my display of purpoosely flawed logic :p

I don't know how far it can be sever, I know it was quite sever for me. I have been tested against autism, with negative results. Even if Asperger syndrom is similar to autism, it is not autism. It began to be known from specialists around 1990, too late for me :( It was the cause of many problems in my childhood, as well as psychological traumatisms among many of my professors :p One of them who had happened to be psychologist had told my parents that it had taken about 6 months to know how to work out an acceptable relation with me  So I guess the ones who were not psychologists never found out what to do

Of your professors? :p

If you don't mind, how did that translate in your everyday life? Did you find strategies to cope with it?

I never really had to "cope with it", I had more to cope with the fact that people couldn't cope with me :D Solving this problem was more something like understanding what people found strange with me, and act "less strangely". I still don't act always "normally". I don't always know how to act "the good way", and in fact I like to be different. But I know that if I am too different, then I am "weird", and people feel uncomfortable with me. It is more like a mutual adaptation.
I would say that where I really have troubles is in what I would call "mundane social interactions". When I meet someone, I have to greet him/her, shake hand or kiss ( how many times? - oh wait, no one really knows anyway for this one :p ) or whatever, enquiry about his/her health, etc... I know these by the time, but I will hardly make any use of them in a real situation. "Good morning" and "bye" (or similar) will do :p By the way, I never understood why someone has to say "good morning", "good afternoon", "good evening", etc. When I greet someone, I mean to greet the person, not to think about the time of the day  This is why I keep saying stupidities such as "good morning" at 10 PM for example, and certainly don't think I do that by accident every time :D
I am also known for having some kind of "emotional bursts" in public places from time to time. 2-3 months ago, I shouted toward someone who was lighting a cigarette in a pub. Smoking in public places had been banned a few days ago in the country where I live, and not everyone knew it already (despite all the signs everywhere). I had to dispatch a few apologies after having calmed down  By the way, I HATE smoke ;)
By finding back all these kinds of events, recent or ancient, where I was told that I did something wrong, or where I suspected that I did something wrong, and comparing them with the characteristics of Asperger syndrom, I thought that it was very likely that I had that. Since a few months, I found many reasons to think I have that, and very few to think the opposite. I thought about asking a doctor, but I finally decided that it was not important, as it might be difficult to be sure, and it would hardly change anything: I know how I am, whether it is indeed Asperger syndrom or not doesn't change it at all.

Hum... I hope that Sparx won't feel like I have hijacked her topic :p

I’ve always thought I had some thing else other then ADHD. I should go to a doctor who knows because really the doctors around my place will kill you, because my grandmother had cancer she went to the doctors and they said she has the flu.
