You call this old? There are topics from several years past here. Bumping these topics is called necroposting, and is generally frowned upon in most forum communities.
In old topics, oftentimes many of the original posters have left, some have changed their stance on a subject since that time, and more than likely a topic will lose it's relevance (i.e. a speculation topic from 1995 in some newsgroup. If a topic from 1995 hasn't seen action in over a decade, chances are nobody intended to read your response likely ever will anyway.)
Topics from years long past generally exist for archival purposes only (like keeping old magazines to revisit the past). You can enjoy them at your whim, but remember that if there has been no action for so much time, you'll do nothing but make a futile effort to keep a dead topic relevant, and move a discussion that took place long ago and shift it's fetters in time to an era where it does not belong, and by doing that you'll anger the Chronomage (or Father Time, St. Germain, Gaspar, Countdown, or the Clockwork Walrus, depending on the cult you're in), who will commence to crush your bones and consume your flesh with copious amounts of peanut oil and molasses, and I don't think you want that!

For one that served under Dracula, you seem much too weak.
