TV shows from childhood

Postby jeffbert » 17 years ago

I am currently watching season 1 disc 2 of the Wild Wild West, even though I really do not remdember this from childhood. I guess I only rememberr the show & one or 2 scenes in particular. But, as I said, all I remembered from Astroboy was the theme song. :p

Next week, I hope to have d1 of s3 Mission Impossible!

hi- hugs- thanks- love the robot shows that cartoon network say they are going to show or are showing and the one on nicktoons- love the humor on the one about the teenage robot- for obvious reason. i also love avatar- the last air-bender. hard to believe there is a connection between avatar and a series that is shown on toon disney. just shows that voice actors are very talented in their voice acting skills- your friend tonigirl- astroboy's number one fan within a megaparsec- love you all- please keep safe and saved please everyone- thanks- hugs

I had 2 GI Joe DESERT PATROL jeeps, & having seen either the RAT PATROL or a TV ad for it, I liked to re-enact scenes from it. However, I foolishly gave away my jeeps to the boys next door when I thought I had outgrown them. :d oh:

I also recall re-enacting the St. V's massacre with GI Joes :d evil:

Memories of LIS were better than the show itself.

The Outer Limits was so very scary, I recall running for the safety of my bed every time the opening theme played. Nevertheless, I do remember a few stories, or at least the frightening characters.

TZ was nowhere near as scary as TOL, even though the smoke-filled opening was qiute frightening.

Planet of the Apes-- I recall the films, but not the show.

SWAT was on while I was in the hospital for a year, few happy memories.

Muppet Show--I rememer the 'phenomenon' song, & Alice Cooper's appearance. Also the muppets on SNL. :D

Bugs Bunny Hour--I do not really remember if these were the quality cartoons that first ran in theaters, or the made for kids toons that pretty much stank.

Man, I remember the Muppet Show... ^_^
Recently they're nothing but a bunch of sellouts ( :( ), but back in the day, man, they were awesome. The writing was genius and watching the old episodes still makes me laugh.

Also there was Darkwing Duck. Hardly remembered it now, but I recently got the set on DVD. Grew up with DW, and watching the old cartoons again is great.

I guess I'm a little too young to remember those shows, but the ones I do remember loving were...

Muppet Babies

Beast Wars

ReBoot

Sonic

Rocko's Modern Life <-------- one of the funniest shows ever made

Jewel Riders

Those shows are all before my time too, including The Muppet Show.
By the time I saw it, it was in reruns.

Wow, you listed Beast Wars. Awesome. X-)
I remember that show. Vaguely. I used to watch it all the time, and loved it, but now I barely remember it. It's been too long. :(

Darkwing was made in 1991 and aired for a couple of years. Am I the only one who even watched it?

I saw it, and I think I saw most of the episodes several times :D However, I had seen it in French, and now that I managed to see it in English I realize how difficult it was to translate.

Wonderful!

The voices must have been rather different between the two versions, were they not? Which version would you say had better lines and acting?

My apologies to the others, I must sound as if I am trying to dominate the conversation. Actually, I was merely looking to see if anyone else shared my childhood interest, since I have yet to find more than perhaps one or two individuals who have also seen it. Feel free to speak around me. *bows politely*
