I realize that the popular use of 'gender' in place of 'sex' is becuse 'sex' has been used instead of "sexual intercourse." Nevertheless, when you want to ask about whether fans are male or female, "The Sex of Astroboy Fans" is correct, although there may be a more appropriate wording than that. Anyway, I do not want to make an issue of it, & hoped that my post would not be interpreted as such.
