Astroboy the movie ( Sticky? )

The worst part of waiting for a movie is waiting for it.

I visited the Imagi site today, and saw the following lines in the movie summary...
"...experiencing betrayal and a netherworld of robot gladiators, before he returns to save Metro City and reconcile with the father who had rejected him."
Hmm, a certainty of giant robots and Tenma & Astro moments? Fanboys AND fangirls get something!

All right, let's review:
-Astro's design is greatly crowd-pleasing
-Tenma is now "Tanner"
-Given his mention on the Imagi site, Ochanimizu will be in the movie, but as the classic "Elefun"
-Since the robot gladiators thing may be an incarnation of the Robot Circus, Hamegg MAY be in the movie; both his fans must be thrilled
-Mustachio, Kenichi, Tamao and Shibugaki are a given

oh God i don't mind the Tanner but i'm already happy he's going to be in the movie he's like my fave character

looks like they're going for the classic manga approach which is a good idea. I'm aware Ochanamizu is quite a mouthful for America so i'm not suprised it's not going to be used but I do kinda wish they'd use something other than "Elefun." Granted, it's a "classic" name, but I always found it rather silly.
If they're doing the robot circus, my theory is that this is going to go for a Batman Begins style that the first movie is going to focus more on Astro's origin rather than a main villian and if it does well, will most likely get a sequel which will THEN introduce one of the big baddies.

Thanks, i hope the movie keeps as close as possible as possible to the Astroboy's series. From what everyone has written sounds like a good movie. I hope especially the fans from the 1960's go see the movie and take their families, really will help the movie make money.

Good british actors can hide their accents when they have to. Maybe he can too
