Aye, that was one of the reasons I can't watch the 60's anime or read the early manga with a straight face. I remember Ken Steacy - of NOW! Comics - saying this:
"We'd decided that the "fuel injections" from the original manga were not quite ready for newsstand comics... [it was] too disgusting. Astro bends over with this huge smile on his face as his mother rams this huge thing...I had kittens the first time I saw this."

In other news, judging by our latest finds, will it be that Hamegg dies?

Oh yeah! I forgot about that So as far as i'm concerned, Astroboy isn't above such jokes. The real problem would be if they use them too much.

I guess I just imagined somebody "adopting" Astro, then dying. Then again, if Hamegg died, I don't think that would plunge him into so much grief that he'd need to get a distraction.

That confused me. In the first epp, he used that door in his chest and had a hard time finding a certain power jack on one of his circus buds. When the robot school ep rolls around both Astro and Uran are getting power enemas before school.
Weirded me out but good.

edit:the butt guns didn't bother me that much, probably because many writers used the euphenism "hips".
