I love it forthe 'flaws'.
I like the 2003 series, but nobody got killed, not one human, robot, or critter. Even under American censors Ladd let the occasional tragedy slip through.

Hmm, I just realized that that never even occurred to me, but how could I miss it? What about the robots in the robot hunter ep?

Well, Munquibyte, that's not entirely true.
Technically, Tobio and Daichi died--at least in the Japanese version.

...But they were "reincarnated" so I guess it doesn't count. XD

I believe in most of the present moral zeitgeist, but I'm really fed up with this spoon fed PC hypersensitivity nowadays. I mean, I like the 2003 series, but nobody got killed, not one human, robot, or critter. Even under American censors Ladd let the occasional tragedy slip through.
I like old outdated stuff like this, it's a form of lashing out.[/QUOTE]

good point, but a death doesn't mean a show is `automaticly` darker
the scenes coloring, acting and dialoge were alot darker then the 1980 series but that doesnt make it bad,
the 1960 series were alot more cheerfull yet had many depresing scenes.

(And ohh, was Skunk delightfully evil. I was between rooting for him and wanting Astro to bust him upside the head.)
Not that I'm against happy endings, I just want enough to happen to get me to care about the action.
As much as I dislike Tenma's new character, I have to admit that the impending war towards the end of the series had everything nice and darkity-dark. :d evil:
Poor Delta had to be the unwilling Gestapo in that one, I really felt for him there.

I know it, wait a minute, like what that guy said in that naruto movie when that princess turned movie actress said, " there is no such thing as a happy ending", he said, "yes there is - you just have to work very hard for it". Close to what he said.
PS- Astroboy and Naruto have one thing in common, they both care and i love that, and they never ever quit, i love that even more.
PSS- One thing else i wish they had in common, cartoon network committed to showing all of Astroboy's cartoons, thanks
I am and feel neither human or alien to this world and time, i know i care and regret i have not the power to protect those of this world- Toni
