Trip to Seattle (and Kinokuniya)

Postby mr skunk » 17 years ago

I know I never posted any pictures from my New York trip earlier this year, but that's because I forgot to bring my camera! It's a shame too, because I wanted to take some pictures of Kinokuniya's new location. They have a second floor now too! :w00t:

Anyway, that won't happen this time. I'll take lots of pictures and make sure to upload them for you guys, especially pictures of Uwajimaya. The website really doesn't give it justice. It's home to a large Kinokuniya bookstore, which means lotsa Tezuka stuff to buy and take pictures of!

I'm leaving in two days and will be gone for a week. When I get back I'll have pictures. :)

Just woke up this lovely Saturday morning, and thought I'd leave you guys with an update.

The trip to Uwajimaya and Kinokuniya was Thursday, and I took many interesting pictures, including all of the Japanese junk food we bought, and some interesting Tezuka items. ;) I'll try to post the pictures tonight.

I'm back home, and as promised, I have pictures! :w00t: I scanned in all of my Tezuka manga I bought at Kinokuniya, so those will be the ones I upload today.

Phoenix: vol. 1

Black Jack vol. 5 (features Skunk as a doctor  )

Black Jack Neo vols. 1 and 2

This was probably the most interesting find. The style is very dramatic, and it's CERTAINLY not for minors. Both volumes feature guest appearances from Skunk, Ben Heck, Duke Red, Ham Egg, Lamp, Melmo, Saphire, Rock, Boon, and even Tezuka himself. :)

That's it for now, more to come!

I, um, really like that Black Jack Neo. There's a thin chance that it'll ever hit the English market, through.
I just noticed the Hyotantsugi-faced man in panel two of volume 1.

Have you read it too? I actually really enjoy it, and I'm glad that there are many of our favorite returning characters. :)

Well, not the whole thing, just a few pages I've been able to find. But so far, I love the style and the cameos.
