LOL Good ones AstroboyGF. Does anyone else think a staring contest with a robot is a bad idea? I mean, do they even NEED to blink?

I think they need to, although they don't necessarily have to blick at the same rate as humans do. If you think of the eyelids as a sort of windshield wipers the blinking definitely makes sense, it's to keep the sight clear. We humans need to blink for keeping the cornea wet & clean, and therefore preventing it from drying out. Not to mention the blinking adds to the cuteness factor; for robots as well as for humans.
