There was that once episode of the 2003 series where these creatures from the future use time travel to obtain genetic samples of other creatures to make themselves more powerful, and it ends with Astro and his sister making friends with a cave-family. That was a weird one. A lot to swallow for one episode!

The one with those TV-broadcasting aliens. We see Astro at his cutest (when he dreams he's a baby and Mitchy -Astro's mom- cradles him) and at his wildest (when he and Uran beat the aliens, really enjoying themselves).

That was a very different take on one of several time-travel stories; the most relevant one was published in 4th Grade student <Study Magazine> and was called "Astro Returns" (see Jeffbert's review of "The Time Machine"; click [cancel] when prompted for PW).

I think Astro Forever made a few animated gifs from images I uploaded of this episode. Check Animate this page 20. :D

The first episode of the 60's Astro Boy has this awkward moment where Astro lends some of his energy to another robot. Watch how he power up the small robot. What the!?

That little Robot is named Piko; he appears in several other eps, most of which involve the robot circus. 1 that does not is the Robot Fortress (Mystery of Amless Dam); note that while Atom refuels several other robots in this 1, Piko is not one of them. :D

The things you could get away with on tv in the 60's. How times have changed, for better or for worse. I'll have to remember some awkward things happen in the 60's series if I ever get the chance to see it.

The entire 1960's series is by far the weirdest of the three versions for all the crazy things incorporated into it. Such as Dr. Elefun's head turning into a tea kettle when he gets angry in one episode.

But those are merely comical way of expressing emotion; There ARE some very weird episodes, but most are not on the English language version.

I must watch my DVDs again sometime so I can pinpoint some specific episodes. I can think of some storylines but not the episode titles.
