Moontide sea level change

Anyone done an Astroscan of possible sea level changes? How high will the full moon tide be? Possible coastal inundations?

Obviously I missed those devotions.
But really with the ice retreating at this pace, has anyone done any guessing about the inevitable sea level rise?

Don't know about your side of the Atlantic, but here in Europe this has been discussed endlessly since years: no doubt that ice melting at the pole will rise the sea level, but it is in no way related to moon tides. Calculation vary from a few centimeters to tens of meters, not sure there is any way to calculate this accurately.

What a minute Fafner....
The tides are completey dependent on the Moon....
How the moon drives the tides....

In fact The Moon causes the tides.....

A some point the Moon at it's closest pass will cause the highest tide. The spring tide or "Moontide...."
It is at Moontide that hightide will be the most likely to bring a sea level change.....

The point is the sea level must rise when the Moon is at Perigee.
Has anyone found any work or data on how much of a rise we might expect per amount of square miles of ice shelf melted?

You ask 2 unrelated questions in 1. That's why I'm puzzled about what you want to know exactly.

Concerning sea rising and ice melting, I'm certain someone did the maths. The formula must not be very complicated, only the data is more difficult to find, thus the wide uncertainty in results. Did you try to search on Google?

It seems to me that:

1. some 70-80% of Earth's surface is covered by water
2. much of the land is dry, little is covered by ice
3. only a tiny fraction of the land's surface is covered by ice, ie., the Antarctic, etc.
4. therefore, even if the ice melts, only that which is upon land will add to the oceans' depth, & this will be distributed over a much larger area than when it was frozen.

I do not see how, even if the poles melt away, there would be a problem. However, I do realize that the size of the land-based ice in cubic feet may be a bit larger than I imagine.

I think we are due for a series of "High Tides" that will pound the coasts at somepoint.
These "High Tides" will come at the nearest approach of the moon. There may well be record high tides to come.
