His name was "Billie" in the english version. Somewhere in Jay Rath's thread, he mentioned the first instance Billie was named, but I'll have to look though his episode reviews.

Yes, it was Freddie, at least in the US version.

I know in "The Hijacked Airship", Daddy Walrus explains that Sam wants to be a baseball player. In "Save the Carolina 3", Alvin says that Sam and Freddie are cowards. So, Sam is the one with the big chin and Freddie the other one.

That's my reference, but I'm sure Freddie's name is said in earlier episodes. I can't remember which ones though.
