I been inspired to pick up the pencil and take a shot at drawing Astro Boy. Here is my interpretation of Astro Boy. The eyes is more round than oval and I thicken up the eye brow. :



And this is my re-design of Astro Boy. I added crease lines all around the body and a different hair style. I replace the black speedo with loose shorts and added knee pads with the ankle-articulated rocket boots. There is a two door compartment on his chest to insert the energy capsule ala Optimus Prime or the Guyver mega-smasher:

i wouldn't necessarily call them "chicken sketches" more on the lines of calling them "rough sketches".
